'Mitr' is a Sanskrit term meaning "Friend'. Citymitr is a students' initiative to help travelers explore the less visited places that only locals tend to know about.
We will do whatever a friend does. We will make you feel like home in our city. Get you to the best experiences there are. It will be your best trip ever.
A student will accompany you in the city you are travelling. The student will be your friend or as we like to call 'Mitr'. Your mitr will plan your day filled with Local Experiences.
Based on the information from the initiating form, we will find the most suitable friend for you. He/She could be someone pursuing studies in your area of expertise, having similar interests, fluent in your language and other factors.
It was really an interesting day to spend with Prakhar and his friend in the confusing city of Dehli. We met early in the morning in the Humayun Tomb. I learnt the history and the first time Hindi script. We walked a lot in different parts of the city. He explained a lot of questions that I had on the interesting things I saw on the street. We went to restaurant where local people go and had the best lamb stew curry ever. And amazing indian dessert afterwards! They helped me buy a traditional dress Kurta for myself. I experienced a Samon in an Indian temple and sitting at the back of a scooter in Delhi's craziest street! There were much more! I would definitely recommend open-minded people to experence the Indian cities with those guys!
